Director Homayoun Ghanizadeh’s cinematic debut ‘Buffoon’, set to compete at the 37th annual Fajr Film Festival, is in the process of completing the final stages of post-production, releasing the film’s first ever pictures.
The film is currently undergoing music production as well as other minor technicalities, with the crew expecting to wrap up post-production in time for the Fajr Film Festival in late January.
According to the movies’ summary: “Danesh is fond of cinema and in love with Homa, the city’s favorite actress. Mr. Kazem is fond of Casablanca and his business license. Shapour is fond of tuna fish and Mosaffa who is banned from TV. The city is filled with beggars and waiting on an imminent earthquake. Also, every once in a while, a dead body of a woman with a shaved head is found on shore. As Investigator Kiani says: ‘The situation is critical!’.”
A theatre director by trade, Ghanizadeh’s cinematic debut not only qualified for the 37th Fajr Film Festival’s New Look awards for first-time directors, but was also invited to compete in the festival’s main event as well.
Produced by Ali Mosaffa, the film’s cast includes award-winning actors Ali Nasiriyan, Saber Abar, Babak Hamidiyan, Reza Kianian, and Hediyeh Tehrani.
